Media General Promotes King and Menscer to Regional Sales and Marketing Positions
HICKORY, N.C. — Media General's North Carolina Community Newspaper Group has promoted David King to regional marketing director and Dwaine Menscer to regional advertising director. Both positions are newly created as part of the company's regional sales and marketing strategy.
King has been advertising director of the Hickory Daily Record for the past year. Before that, he was publisher of four weekly newspapers in Media General's Central Virginia Weekly Group in Orange, Va. King previously served as a retail salesman and retail manager at The Daily Progress in Charlottesville, Va. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech.
Menscer has served as advertising director of the Statesville Record & Landmark since 1994. Prior to then, he was publisher of the Observer News Enterprise in Newton, N.C. Before entering the newspaper business, Menscer worked for 20 years in retail merchandising and marketing. He attended Mitchell Community College.
