Sumers Named Human Resources Director for Media General's Community Newspapers

RICHMOMD, Va. — Media General's Publishing Division has named Dale Sumers as director of human resources for the company's community newspapers.

Before joining Media General, Sumers worked 10 years for the University of Texas at Austin, where she was most recently assistant director of human resources. Before that she was director of employee relations for SYSCO Corp. in Houston.

"Dale is a human resources veteran and a proven leader," said Frank A. McDonald Jr., vice president and director of human resources for Media General's Publishing Division. "She has 22 years of combined experience in two organizations that have more than 17,000 employees.

Sumers is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a master's degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia.
