Media General Interactive Media Division Names Harris Vice President

RICHMOND, Va. — Phil Harris is joining Media General's Interactive Media Division as vice president on Jan. 21. Harris will be in charge of online enterprises that are affiliated with the company's newspapers and television stations.

Harris comes to Media General from the E.W. Scripps Co., where he was director of Internet business development for the company's newspapers. He joined Scripps in 1995 as director of interactive media for the company's daily newspaper in Naples, Fla.

"Phil has a terrific track record of boosting the bottom lines of online enterprises," said Neal Fondren, president of Media General's Interactive Media Division. "He has extensive experience in integrating interactive solutions that produce incremental revenue for traditional media. Phil will be a strong leader on Media General's interactive media team."
