Media General To Webcast Second-Quarter 2002 Earnings Conference Call on July 16

RICHMOND, Va. — Media General (NYSE: MEG) will release second-quarter 2002 earnings on Tuesday, July 16, before the market opens. The full text of the release and financials will be available on the company's Web site, www.mediageneral.com.

The company will hold an earnings conference call with financial analysts that day at 11 a.m. EDT. The conference call will be available to the media and general public via webcast. To listen to the live webcast, access www.mediageneral.com and click on the "Live Earnings Conference" link at the top of the homepage about 10 minutes in advance. A replay of the webcast will be available at www.mediageneral.com beginning at 2 p.m. on July 16.
