Media General to Webcast CSFB Global Media Week Presentation

Richmond, Va. - Media General, Inc. (NYSE: MEG) will provide a live Webcast of its presentation at the Credit Suisse First Boston Global Media Week conference on Tuesday, December 6, 2005. Marshall N. Morton, president and chief executive officer, O. Reid Ashe, executive vice president and chief operating officer, and John A. Schauss, vice president-finance and chief financial officer, will provide an update on the company’s performance, business strategy and outlook for the fourth quarter 2005 and next year. Media General’s presentation will take place at 11:20 a.m. ET at The Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan Hotel in New York City.

The audio Webcast will be accessible from a link on the company’s Web site at www.mediageneral.com. Media General will issue a press release summarizing the remarks. The press release and the full text of the presentation will be posted to the investor relations section of the company’s Web site on December 6. A replay of the Webcast will be available on the company’s Web site on December 7.
